In the fast-paced landscape of Reco's platform, staying ahead of potential issues is crucial for maintaining a secure and efficient environment. One of the key features that empowers users to proactively manage their policies is the notification system.

Notifications provide real-time alerts whenever a policy is violated, allowing users to take immediate action. This guide will walk you through the simple process of setting up notifications in Reco's platform, ensuring that you receive timely alerts and maintain control over your policies.

Setting Up Notifications:

  1. Navigate to the 'Configuration' -> 'Policy Center' Page: Start by accessing the 'Configuration' section and then go to the 'Policy Center' page. This is the hub where you can manage and configure your policies.

  2. Choose a Specific Policy: Identify the specific policy for which you want to receive notifications. Select the policy you are concerned about, and click on it to proceed to the detailed settings.

  3. Edit Additional Notifications: Within the policy settings, scroll down to the notification section. Locate the 'No additional notification' option and click on 'Edit.' This action will allow you to customize the notification settings for this specific policy.

  4. Choose a Notification Medium: Upon clicking 'Edit,' you'll be prompted to choose a notification medium. Reco's platform currently supports two primary mediums - Slack and Email. Select the medium that best suits your workflow and communication preferences.

  5. Enter Notification Address: Depending on your chosen medium, you'll need to enter the appropriate address. For Slack, this might be a channel or user ID, while for Email, it will be the email address where you want to receive notifications.

  6. Save and Observe Condition Change: After entering the notification details, click 'Save' to apply the changes. You'll notice a change in the notification conditions for the selected policy. From this point forward, any alert triggered by a violation of this policy will be sent to the configured medium.
