Connect JIRA to create tickets in Reco

Make your alert management hassle-free with Reco's connection to JIRA. Activating JIRA Write is easy, and you can swiftly handle high-risk alerts by creating JIRA tickets directly within Reco. This not only speeds up issue resolution but also promotes smooth teamwork by providing everyone with the needed context. Here is a setp by step guide to connect JIRA

prerequisites

  1. Make sure that you have the right permissions to generate an API token in Jira

  2. A Reco user with Admin Role

Activate JIRA Write:

Integrate Jira Ticketing with Reco

  1. Login to the Atlassian platform, or click here

  2. Under "Security" -> "API Tokens" click on Create and manage API tokens

  3. Click on "Create API token"

  4. Name the token and click on "Create"

  5. Copy the given API token, and keep it aside

  6. Login to Reco

  7. Click on "Configurations" then click on "Integrations"

  8. Locate the "Jira Ticketing" object and click on "Add Integration"

  9. A new screen will open, click on "Allow"

  10. Fill in the following fields, and click on "Reinstall into Workspace"

  • Jira API Token - The previously generated API Token

  • Email - The user's email address

  • Server URL - The server URL, typically: https://<company_name>.atlassian.net

11. If the integration was successful, the Jira Ticketing Integration status will become "Active"

High risk alerts you need to be delegated? "Create JIRA Ticket":

  • Click on the alert you want to create a ticket to

  • Once you observe the details of the alert and you know who you want to assign it to, click on 'create a ticket'

  • alongside the context pre-populated, fill out additional information on the ticket: the project key, the issue type, the summary, description of the ticket, components , who to assign it to, and lastly the priority (High, Medium, Low)

  • Click on 'Create Jira Ticket' and wait for confirmation

  • Once its confirmed, refresh the page and observe how the ticket is assigned to the alert with a link directly to JIRA!
